Prep Like A Pro
I recently directed a live, external webcast for New York Life out of its’ Madison Avenue offices. In a de-brief with the executive producer, I was told that his client — a high-profile employee — had said that she was so pleased with the show because I had taken the time to go over her script and suggest changes that made for a better show. Surprisingly, no one had ever taken the time — or had the expertise — to do this with her before.
Anytime you are going to make a presentation — no matter what the format — have someone with TV &/or presentation expertise review your script to get the “40,000 foot view”. Done properly, it’s a great way to omit trite phrases and create viewer focus. It’s what the pros do and you should too!
