While our Documentary film, Why The Divide, will hold our focus for the next few months, Dennis Maneri continues to Produce and Direct communications for Fortune 100 companies. He believes that his duty as a producer is to make you, his client, look good to your superiors; whether they be managers, members of the board or the public. Throughout his career, Dennis and The Gotham Group have produced and directed hundreds of films (16 & 35 mm), commercials, videos, and live shows/events.

  • Producer: Very early in Dennis’ career, he was asked to produce a documentary for Warner Lambert Pharmaceutical and the National Hospice Organization. Having handled a production of that size and distribution (PBS National Satellite) he moved on to hire (and fire) crews for international broadcasts, for tapes shot overseas and complex studio productions.

  • Director: Having started as a 16mm cameraman & editor, Dennis quickly moved to position of Staff Director for Billy Budd Films in New York. Three years later when he became a freelance director, his sensibilities for corporate messaging made him a favorite of top companies in the area. Known for his work in film-style shooting, Dennis was nevertheless asked to try his hand at mulit-camera live broadcasts for IBM. Within a year, he was ranked as IBM’s top Live Director for its Field Television Network. His work in this area includes designing a series of shows for future NASDAQ CEO, Wick Simmons.
  • Editor: With a reputation as a talented 16mm Editor, Dennis was asked several times early in his career including twice by Academy Award winner Will Vinton (Closed Mondays) to be a full-time 35mm editor. Dennis’ fondness of sunlight precluded any such move. More recently, his editing work in 35 (see Film Short) drew praise from Academy Award winner, Joel Coen (Fargo, No Country For Old Men). Dennis’ considerable editing talent brings added value to his work as a producer & director who oversees the final touches on all his projects.
